A blast of arctic air will end 2014

Arctic air will settle over Mid-Missouri Tuesday bringing clouds, snow flurries and bitterly cold air. Low clouds will bring a chance of snow flurries through early Tuesday but no accumulation is expected. Temperatures will only reach the low to mid 20s but will feel more like the lower teens when factoring in the 10-15 mph northerly wind.

Clouds will break up to partly cloudy skies Tuesday night as temperatures fall into the single digits with an icy northerly breeze which will make it feel more like zero.

We’ll see more sunshine for the last day of 2014 but it will still be very cold with afternoon highs only in the lower 20s and wind chills from near zero in the morning to 12 in the afternoon. Temperatures will drop into the teens with single digit wind chills in the evening as we ring in 2015.
