Police respond to bank robbery in northeast Columbia

Police responded to a bank robbery in northeast Columbia around noon on Monday.

Officers were called to the Regions Bank at 2114 Paris Road around 12:15 p.m. The suspect fled on foot in an opposite direction with an unknown amount of money.

There were no customers inside at the time of the robbery, and no one was injured.

Police said the suspect is a white man, around 5’10” or 11″, 180 lbs, wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, a blue zip-up hoodie and sunglasses. He could be in his late 20s or early 30s, carrying a bag similar to a bank bag.

There have been 5 bank robberies in Columbia since December 9th.

Police released video surveillance earlier today of a man meeting that same description.

They believe he is responsible for the December 9th bank robbery at UMB Bank.

There are still 3 bank robbery suspects unaccounted for in the past month.

Columbia Police are asking the public if they have any information to call the Columbia Police Department or 875-TIPS
