Rain/snow mix possible late Tuesday-early Wednesday

Scattered showers will continue Monday afternoon and taper off Monday night. Clouds will stick around and keep temperatures mild, in the upper 30s Monday night.

Tuesday will start off with clouds and gusty winds, and slightly cooler temperatures as a cold front pulls through.

Scattered showers will move back in, wrapping around Monday’s low pressure system, and forming north of another system that will track to our south.

As temperatures fall to near the freezing mark Tuesday night, some of this precipitation could turn over to snow very early Christmas Eve morning. This could make roads slick for the holiday commute.

Precipitation, likely warming enough to fall as rain, will linger into the early part of the day, tapering off by Wednesday evening. A dusting of snow is possible on Wednesday.

Christmas Day will be mild, with temperatures reaching the mid-40s in the afternoon.

The weekend will be slightly cooler, as another upper level wave dips down across the Plains and moves through Mid-Missouri. This could bring a chance of light snow on Saturday, with highs in the 30s through Sunday.
