Mistrial for Saline Co. shaken baby case

A mistrial was declared Thursday after the jury could not agree in the case of a Marshall woman charged in a January 2012 shaken baby case.

Closing arguments in Saline County wrapped up Thursday in the trial for Nakisha O’Bryan.

Court documents said she was watching the baby two years ago when her husband, Joshua Pabst, shook and dropped the child on the floor.

The baby was taken to a Kansas City hospital for a brain hemorrhage on January 29, 2012.

Investigators claimed she didn’t tell the child’s mother about the abuse, and only said the baby fell off the couch.

Last year, her husband pleaded guilty and received two years probation.
