Little sunshine but warmer temperatures

December is typically a cloudy month with on average 17 cloudy days, 6.3 partly cloudy days and only 7.7 clear days. In the first 10 days of December 2014 we have only seen around 16 hours of sunshine and the clouds will be stubborn to clear through early next week.

Despite the lack of sunshine, temperatures will still climb the next few days as southerly winds send milder air north into Missouri. High temperatures will reach the lower 50s Friday and the upper 50s this weekend with some pockets of sunshine Saturday. The clouds will return Sunday as a storm system approaches, bringing rain Sunday night and Monday.
