Callaway County Sheriff’s Office: Convicted murderer in custody
CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Callaway County Sheriff's Department says Stephen Thorp was taken into custody Tuesday in a nearby county after leading deputies on a chase.
Thorp was wanted in reference to a Randolph County misdemeanor warrant for resisting arrest. Thorp does have a past murder conviction but was on supervised parole.
The Callaway County Sheriff's Office said Stephen Thorp took off from deputies on Saturday in a vehicle chase then a foot chase.
The Mexico Public Safety Department arrested Thorp on Tuesday, according to authorities. Audrain County Sheriff Matt Oller said Thorp was out-processed from the Audrain County Jail Wednesday morning and returned to the Department of Corrections on his parole violations.
