Man changes plea in Randolph Co. child molestation case

A Randolph County man who pleaded guilty to first degree child molestation in September has changed his plea to “not guilty.”

The case was moved from Randolph to Ralls County on a change of venue.

Burnett was scheduled to be sentenced in New London Monday morning, but the judge reinstated his plea to “not guilty” based on the Missouri Probation and Parole Board’s sentencing assessment report.

The case will be set for trial and Burnett remains in custody.

Authorities said the alleged child molestation happened in February 2012 in a trailer park near Huntsville. The victim was an 8-year-old child at the time.
