Jefferson City police say they arrested a man early Tuesday on suspicion of making threats with a gun inside an Elizabeth Street residence.

Officers were called to the 1400 block of Elizabeth Street at about 1 a.m. for a disturbance involving a weapon, according to a Jefferson City Police Department news release. Police found a victim and a witness outside the residence who told them a man inside had a loaded gun and said "I'm going to kill everyone," according to the release.

The man came out of the residence after police called him on a cellphone. Officers found a child in a rear bedroom unharmed, according to the release. Police found a loaded 9mm handgun inside, the release said.

Police arrested the man on suspicion of child endangerment, unlawful use of a weapon and domestic assault. Police did not release the suspect's name pending filing of charges.
