Columbia bank robber on the loose

Columbia Police are still looking for a man who robbed Central Bank of Missouri.

It happened around 1:00 Thursday afternoon on Rangeline Street.

They said the man implied he had a weapon, but the bank teller never saw one.

Investigators said a white man came into the bank demanding money and left with an undisclosed amount of money heading southbound on a dark colored bicycle.

Police are still trying to get a picture of the man from surveillance at the bank, but they do have a suspect description of the robber.

“A white male around 5’10”, 160 pounds, between mid to late twenties, a ball cap and jeans,” said Latisha Stroer with the Columbia Police Department.

Police said they see a spike in crime right before the holidays so this is not unusual for them.

They ask if anyone has any information about the robbery to call 875-TIPS.
