Cold temperatures continue, wintry precipitation possible this weekend

Cold temperatures continue to dominate this week as afternoon temperatures only reach the lower to middle 30s, and lows in the upper teens and 20s.

Wind chills will be very cold, in the upper single digits and lower teens each morning.

Arctic high pressure remains over the Midwest through the end of the week, with clouds increasing Friday ahead of an upper level wave that starts to move across the Plains.

This wave will bring us a little moisture to influence our weather Saturday afternoon through the overnight hours.

Right now, temperatures through the atmospheric column look to support snow, although some mixed precipitation is possible Saturday afternoon and evening. Most of Mid-Missouri could see 1/2″ to an inch of light snow, while areas of western Missouri near the Kansas border could see up to 2″.
