Victoria’s Bridal owner owes state thousands

A spokesman at the Department of Revenue confirmed to ABC 17 that tax liens on Victoria’s Bridal have been filed.

The most recent filing was last Friday and the first was in July 2014.

Revenue filed a tax lien on Victoria’s Bridal for nearly $16,000 on Friday.

One lien was filed at the end of September for nearly $30,000.

There are two additional liens that equal about $1,000.

According to Missouri state statute, liens are filed if a taxpayer fails to pay a tax or interest when they are due.

In these cases, the state claimed it was owed sales tax and use tax.

The owner of Victoria’s Bridal, Ann Metternich, has told ABC 17 she is leaving Jefferson City to run two stores in Iowa.

Missouri law requires someone owing taxes to pay them, even if they are living out of state.
