Nixon asks former Budweiser exec for ideas about Rams

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon has asked a former Anheuser-Busch executive and a prominent attorney to consider options for ensuring the future of the NFL in St. Louis.

Nixon announced Wednesday that former brewery president David Peacock and attorney Robert Blitz will analyze the stadium issue involving the St. Louis Rams, then present options within 60 days.

Georgia Frontiere relocated the Rams from Los Angeles to St. Louis in 1995, and the team moved into the taxpayer-funded stadium now known as the Edward Jones Dome. Frontiere died in 2008 and the team was sold to Stan Kroenke.

The Rams say the dome needs hundreds of millions of dollars in upgrades. The St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission is unwilling to fund the improvements, raising concerns that the team could move.
