Man accused of stabbing wife still not in court

It still unclear Monday night when a Columbia man will go before a judge after he was accused of stabbing his wife Friday.

88-year-old Donald Rowland’s daughter found him and his wife, Betty, on Friday in their home off Woodrail Terrace near the Country Club of Missouri in south Columbia.

Rowland is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action.

Court documents said he claimed to have killed his wife and tried to commit suicide because he felt they were a burden to the family.

Rowland was taken to the hospital.
