Columbia police investigate shooting at The Cottages townhomes

Columbia police are investigating after an unknown suspect fired multiple shots in the parking lot of The Cottages townhomes off East Nifong Boulevard just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police said a resident was having a party with about 50 guests.

According to a news release, a large disturbance happened before multiple shots were fired.

Police said one bullet sailed through a second story bedroom window of an apartment. There were also four cars in the parking lot that were hit by bullets.

No one was injured.

Police said those involved did not cooperate with officers.

There is no suspect information and the investigation is ongoing.
