Columbia Shooter still on the loose tonight

Columbia Police said they responded to a shots fired call on the 2400 block of Nifong Boulevard Saturday night around 1:30, also known as The Cottages.

Police said one window of an apartment was hit, four cars were damaged from bullets and no one was reported injured.

People who live in the area said they didn’t see anything out of the ordinary Saturday night, but aren’t happy about the situation in the typically quiet area.

“It’s a little unsettling, I definitely didn’t really expect anything like that, it’s not really comforting,” said Briana Fagan, a resident at the Cottages.

Police said the incident stemmed from a house party with nearly 50 people inside when a disturbance broke out and an unknown shooter shot off several bullets.

Police said they have received no help in the investigation and there are no new updates to the case.
