Cole Co. Commission meets over courthouse infrastructure issues

Cole County commissioners are deciding whether to replace windows in the courthouse and annex due to leaking problems.

In the courthouse, crews have noticed leaks in about 50 to 60 windows; some of those leaking worse than others.

For now, there are plans in place to start re-caulking several windows.

If that works, they’ll re-caulk all of the windows, which will cost about $13,000. If not, they’ll have to replace.

“I think it’s something we want to get done, we’ve spent a lot of time, money, and effort trying to keep our buildings in shape and so we want to maintain that and just going forward we’re trying to do one step before we do another, and not having to go back and redo it,” said western commissioner Kris Scheperle.

Commissioners plan to discuss the project further at future council meetings. Also at Wednesday’s meeting, they approved a 911 agreement with Jefferson City for one more year.
