Police: woman died of heroin overdose in Jefferson City

A 24-year-old woman was discovered dead Tuesday morning after apparently overdosing on heroin. Her mother called 911 in Jefferson City at about 4 a.m. after finding her unconscious in the bathroom.

Authorities now confirm the woman is Haven Ogden.

Officers went to the house in the 2800 block of Sue Drive. When they arrived on scene, they found various items associated with heroin use.

Investigators did not see any signs of foul play, but they think the woman had been dead for several hours.

Detectives say the case is still on-going.

An autopsy was completed Tuesday and officials are waiting on a toxicology report before releasing any information.

Captain Doug Shoemaker with the Jefferson City Police Department said investigators are working right now to find out if there is any other information tied into the case.

People who live on Sue Drive told ABC 17 this is not the first time someone has overdosed in the area.

They said someone who lived on Sue Drive overdosed this past summer.
