Thieves steal items during college party

Several suspects are on the loose after stealing items during a party in downtown Columbia.

According to a police report, it happened Monday night just after midnight at the Brookside Apartments on Walnut Street.

The victims told police they let people into their apartment for a party, and during the course of the night, three Macbook Pro’s, several computer and phone chargers, a Playstation, and XBox games were taken, among other things.

The police don’t have any suspect descriptions or anyone arrested for the crime.

Friends of the victims told ABC 17 News the men did get their laptops back, after the thieves took them to Best Buy to get their passwords changed, and Best Buy confiscated them.

Eleven robberies or burglaries have been reported in Columbia since the beginning of September. Police have not been able to say if any are related.
