Two Columbia homes hit with bullets

Columbia Police are investigating a shooting in north Columbia.

Just before 8 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called out to the area of Derby Ridge and High Quest Circle after getting multiple calls of shots fired.

Police found two homes had been hit, with one bullet each in the 1600 block of High Quest Circle. They did not find any shell casings and no injuries have been reported.

One bullet went through a bedroom window, landing in a wall across the hallway. And a second went through a kitchen window.

There were seven people inside the two homes, including a 2-month-old baby. One of the residents said he saw four men standing in the backyard when the shots were fired.

At least three other shootings have been reported along Derby Ridge Drive in the last six months.

Investigators say there is no suspect information at this time and the investigation continues.
