Local Columbia hair salon raises money for food bank

A local Columbia hair salon is cutting hair for donations to the Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri.

The Green Meadows Hair Company salon hosted its annual “haircut-a-thon” Sunday afternoon.

It an annual event and the salon chooses a different charity each year.

The owner of the salon, Constance Parker, said this year’s event was pretty successful.

“The community has supported us for so many years,” Parker said. “We should give back to them and everybody loves to spend a little time and help out everyone else.”
