Holder orders federal autopsy on Mike Brown after another night of unrest in Ferguson

The federal government will conduct a second autopsy on Michael Brown at his family’s request.

Brown was the teenager shot and killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Mo. on August 9. The incident has sparked a week’s worth of civic unrest.

One person was shot and severely wounded and seven people were arrested early Sunday as police enforced curfew ordered just yesterday afternoon.

Capt. Ron Johnson with the Missouri State Highway Patrol said officers responded in force shortly after they began curfew enforcement after midnight.

Johnson says officers came across several men who had broken into and were atop a barbeque restaurant on W. Florissant Avenue. At the same time, a man standing in the street pointed a gun at an approaching armored personnel vehicle.

Authorities continue to search for the suspect in the shooting incident early this morning. Police say someone shot at a patrol car as well but no one was injured in that shooting.

On Saturday, Governor Jay Nixon declared a state of emergency and instituted a midnight-to-5:00 a.m. curfew for the north St. Louis suburb.

Ferguson has been the scene of protests and some looting since Brown’s death.
