Three charged for selling synthetic drugs in Miller Co.

Three people were charged following a Tuesday search warrant at the Eldon Puff & Snuff smoke shop.

A civil lawsuit against the smoke shop was filed by the Miller County Prosecuting Attorney Monday for allegedly selling synthetic marijuana and imitation drugs, as well as drug paraphernalia.

According to court documents, on June 30, the Eldon Police arranged a controlled buy of imitation controlled substance from Puff & Snuff. When an informant made contact with an employee who was working at the time, he asked to see the book of “fake.” The cashier told the informant which one he should buy that would be the best. 47-year-old Pamela Jo White-Wood sold the informant a 5 gram bag.

The informant came back to the shop about an hour and 20 minutes later and told the cashier that his friends really enjoyed the synthetic drugs, and he wanted some more. The cashier then sold the informant a 2 gram bag, and told the informant that he should try the “chronic” because it was supposed to be even better.

In an interview, Wood said she and other employees who work at Puff & Snuff know that people who buy the product are misusing it by smoking it.

48-year-old Robin Parker was charged with two counts of sale of an imitation controlled substance. 58-year-old Kay Barnhart was charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. White-Wood was also charged with one count of sale of an imitation controlled substance.

All three women are from Eldon. Each count carries a maximum sentence of four years in prison, and a fine of up to $5,000.

The women are scheduled to be arraigned on September 17.

The Miller County prosecutor is working with the Assistant U.S. Attorney’s office in Jefferson City, and additional charges are still possible.
