I-70 traffic backs up near Columbia for gravel on roadway

Drivers experienced significant delays Friday, after a truck dumped a load of gravel across I-70 eastbound near Columbia.

Boone County emergency officials were called around 11:15 a.m. The spill happened between the Stadium and Providence exits, but traffic backed up quickly, almost reaching Midway.

At the moment, there have not been any accidents because of the gravel, but it is unclear when the spill will be cleared.
