Murder charge dismissed against man accused in 2013 shooting

A man accused in the summer 2013 Columbia murder of Anthony Unger appeared in Boone Co. court Monday.

Samuel Butler pleaded guilty to attempted distribution of a controlled substance. Butler was originally charged with second degree murder, but that charge was amended.

The state recommended a 10 year sentence. Butler will be sentenced on September 2nd.

Another man accused in the case, Domionte Cheatum, was found guilty of murder, robbery, and armed criminal action on June 12.
