Phelps County woman killed in car accident
A woman died in a car accident on Route U in Miller County early Thursday. The accident happened around 8 a.m. just north of Route EE.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Debra Harris, 58, from Edgar Springs drove off the side of the road. Harris then overcorrected and proceeded to weave over the center line twice before her truck hit a fence and flipped several times.
Harris, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the truck. She was pronounced dead at University Hospital in Columbia later in the morning.
