Columbia woman arrested for hitting person with her car

Boone County deputies arrested a Columbia woman for intentionally hitting someone with her car.

Deputies went to Bethany Drive Thursday evening in response to a disturbance. They learned a group of people had stopped Kor’janae Carter in her car in connection with an earlier incident.

The group and Carter got into a fight, during which Carter drove away. According to deputies, she turned the car around and drove back toward the people with whom she had been fighting. Carter allegedly sped up and hit someone in the street, though that person was not part of the previous fight.

The victim was taken to a hospital and has has since been released.

Carter was arrested on suspicion of assault and disturbing the peace. Some of the group members with whom she fought were also charged with peace disturbance.

Carter was booked into the Boone County jail on $5,000 and has bonded out.
