Storm damage in Prarie Home

Prarie Home’s only school building was damaged in Tuesday nights storm.

The Principal, Patrick Tray said, “I woke up to messages saying you aren’t going to be happy with what you see.”

The roof was blown off and ended up in the parking lot.

The classroom in the very back of the school was the one room that had the most damage.

The ceiling caved in and the halls flooded.

Almost one hundred people around the community helped clean up the debris from the storm.

Workers took four tractor trailers full of metal to the scrap yard in Jefferson City.

Danielle Paulson, a Junior at Prarie Home said, “You just never expect this to happen to you and when it does happen it’s incredible.”

The Superintendent, Steve Barnes said, “We just thank God that no kids were in the building and no one was working.”

The students are raising money to replace the digital sign in the front of the school yard, which was destroyed in the storm.

There are still no estimates on damage or how long it will take to fix.
