Tracking heat and humidity this weekend, few storms Sunday

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and comfortable with lows in the low to mid-60s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny, warm and humid with highs in the upper 80s. Heat index around 90.

EXTENDED: We'll see a few more clouds late Saturday night into Sunday as moisture starts to stream in with low pressure to our south. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are possible Sunday afternoon into the evening, but no severe weather is expected. Next week kicks off a very summer like pattern with highs in the low to mid-80s and a chance of storms tied to the afternoon heat each day. Given the lack of forcing aloft, anything that develops will remain sub-severe, but it will move slowly, so we could end up with some pockets of higher rain totals. At the same time, some areas will remain dry the entire time given the nature of showers and storms. We'll have dry time in between rounds, but expect a chance each day during the afternoon through about sunset. By the end of the week, we'll be keeping a close eye on high pressure that could diminish our rain chances and bring temperatures closer to 90 by the end of the weekend.
