Mid-Missouri vaccination incentives for residents include gift cards, sweepstakes & giveaways
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Multiple retailers and organizations are giving away incentives including gift cards to incentivize residents to get the coronavirus vaccine.
The White House recently announced multiple incentives including free childcare to anyone who gets vaccinated. A full list of incentives can be found here.
President Biden's current goal is to get 70% of U.S. adults vaccinated with at least one dose by July 4.
Hy-Vee
Hy-Vee recently announced it will be giving out $10 gift cards to anyone who get's their coronavirus vaccine at its pharmacy or pop-up vaccination clinic from now until November 11, 2021.
Hy-Vee is offering the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccine for residents. The Pfizer vaccine is available for anyone at least 12-years-old and the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccine is for anyone at least 18-years-old.
Individuals must complete their final dose of the vaccine at Hy-Vee to receive their $10 gift card.
Kroger
Starting on Thursday, Kroger is entering anyone who gets vaccinated into a sweepstakes to win a million dollars and also receive free groceries for a year.
The store is offering five million dollar payouts to people who get their coronavirus vaccine from Kroger Health.
Target
Target is offering $5 off any purchase when getting a vaccine from a CVS Pharmacy inside the national retailer.
CVS Pharmacy
CVS Pharmacy is offering incentives including sweepstakes to win a cruise, tickets to Super Bowl LVI and various cash prizes. In total, the pharmacy is offering over 1,000 prizes for anyone at least 18-years-old.
The deadline for CVS Pharmacy's sweepstakes is July 10th according to its website.
Current Progress of Missouri
As of Wednesday, nearly 52% of Missouri adults have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine according to the state dashboard.
If the trend continues of around 8,000 vaccinations per day, the state would only add an additional four percent of the population to the initiated vaccination list by July 4.
