Mizzou falls in Super Regional opener against James Madison

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou softball team fell in the first game of its home Super Regional, 2-1, against James Madison University on Friday night.

It was a pitcher's ball game throughout. MU's Jordan Weber finished with nine strikeouts and about six innings of no hit softball. Odicci Alexander tossed 10 strikeouts for the Dukes.

Mizzou's only run came from a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Up next - MU will host James Madison University again on Saturday at 6 P.M. The Tigers need to win the game in order to have a chance at going to the World Series.
