MODOT starting to repair bridges on Highway 63
Traffic was backed up Wednesday on Highway 63 between Stadium and Broadway due to the Missouri Department of Transportation repairing bridges.
MODOT official Chuck Sullivan said, “We’re putting a new riding surface or a wearing surface down.”
The current bridge is deteriorating underneath and have been given a structurally deficient rating.
MODOT has had traffic crews out trying to find the problem areas in order to alleviate congestion.
The southbound lanes will take twenty days to complete.
The northbound lanes around Hominy Creek bridge, Grindstone and the bridge over Highway 70 will take two months.
Sullivan said, “With the influx of traffic, plan ahead and take alternative routes until the work is done.”
