Jefferson City shooting linked to drugs, 2 of 6 suspects charged
Jefferson City Police arrested 6 people in a shooting that happenedFriday night in the 400 block of East Dunklin Street.
As of Tuesday night, 17-year-old Javier Morris and 24-year-old Dennis Summers have been charged with armed criminal action and assault.
According to court documents, Summers drove Morris to an apartment at 428 E. Dunklin Street to buy marijuana.
Summers and Morris left the apartment only to return later because they believed they did not receive as much marijuana as they should have.
Summers brought a 9mm firearm and picked up Keiondrey Morris, Onterion Sullivan, Kaleb Gilpin, and a 16-year-old juvenile.
The group returned to the apartment on Dunklin where Javier Morris got out of the car and fired multiple shots at the apartment.
The 6 suspects then fled the scene.
Police responded to a call of multiple shots fired in the area and found 33-year-old Terrell Brown had been shot once in the torso while he was inside the home.
Authorities arrested 3 of the suspects on Monday night, and 3 others on Tuesday.
Arrested were Javier Morris, 17, Dennis Summers, 24, Onterion Sullivan, 20,Keiondrey Morris, 18, Kaleb Gilpin, 17, and the 16-year-old male juvenile.
5 of the 6 suspects are in the Cole County Jail. The sixth suspect is being held at the juvenile center in Jefferson City.
