Lead design firm selected for Fulton State Hospital

Governor Jay Nixon’s office tells ABC 17 a lead design firm has been selected for the rebuilding of the Fulton State Hospital.

Parsons Brinckerhoff with offices out of St. Louis has been chosen to help rebuild the crumbling hospital.

Construction is expected to begin next year and finish in 2016.

It will cost around $211 million to build and could create more than 2,500 jobs during construction.
