Missouri Sports Wrap April 13

Softball:

The No. 16 Missouri softball team clinched the series last night over auburn and swept the series after a 7-6 win Sunday. A grand slam from Kelsea Roth gave Mizzou a 4-0 lead in the 3 inning. Then in the 7th inning, Corrin Genovese and Kelli Schkade hit home runs to win the game.

Baseball:

The Missouri baseball team faced 15th ranked SEC opponent Kentucky Sunday. After a major shut out last night, Mizzou redeemed itself winning the series with a 8-3 victory marking the second road series win over a ranked opponent this season. On the mound was eric anderson who struck out 10 batters and tallied the go-ahead hit in the top of the 6th.

Tennis:

First opponent for the Mizzou tennis team was Ole Miss who defeated the Tiger 4-0. Ole miss won the doubles point after an 8-6 win against Cierra Gaytan-Leach and Rachel Stuhlmann. Then in singles, Gaytan-Leach fell to Ole Miss giving them the 3 to 0 advantage.

Second match against UMKC, Mizzou won 7-0. Number 1 and 3 doubles earned Mizzou their first points. To seal the deal and the win 7-0 was Gaytan-Leach with the win at no. 1 singles.
