Texas AMBER Alert canceled for Mo.

A Texas AMBER Alert was canceled Wednesday morning after evidence the teen girl was no longer in the Kansas City metro area.

The original alert had been extended to the Show-Me State late Tuesday night.

Nomei Velazquez, 15, was reported abducted by Juan Delacruz in Nacogdoches, Texas on Monday.

The pair had last been seen in a 2004 silver Volkswagon Passat with Texas plates DF7T507 in Lenexa, Kansas.

According to the alert, Delacruz was driving northbound on Interstate 35 around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Velazquez was described as a Hispanic girl, four feet 11 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing glasses, a white shirt, blue jeans, black tennis shoes and carrying a brown purse.

The suspect Delacruz was described as a Hispanic man with some facial hair, standing five feet six inches tall and weighing 180 pounds.

Anyone with information on the pair’s whereabouts is asked to call local law enforcement.

The alert comes one week after a statewide AMBER Alert for a missing Springfield girl, ten-year-old Hailey Owens.

Owens was found dead hours after being abducted on her walk home from school. A Springfield schools football coach and employee has been charged in her murder and was in jail Tuesday night.
