Boone County home hit by gunfire northeast of Columbia

A home in Boone County northeast of Columbia was hit by gunfire late Thursday night.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to calls about gunfire on Demaret Drive around 9:20 p.m. Witnesses had said they heard gunfire from the road in front of a home in the 700 block.

Deputies recovered evidence indicating gunshots were fired from the road into the home. A woman and three children inside were not hurt, but a bullet was found in the home.
