Hundreds attend Cole County Lincoln Days
Hundreds of Missouri republicans attended the annual Cole County Lincoln Days event.
The goal of this event was to show support and raise funds for Cole County GOP candidates.
Cole County Sheriff Greg White, Presiding Commissioner Marc Ellinger, and Prosecuting Attorney Mark Richardson were just a few of the Cole County elected officials in attendance.
Thousands were raised through an auction that featured a variety of guns, art pieces and even a dinner with Congressman Blane Luetkemeyer and his wife.
Speakers included Luetkemer and possible 2016 republican governor candidate and current state auditor Tom Schweich.
Schweich spoke about how he feels it is important that GOP candidates stick together in the upcoming elections.
He then took time to talk about this year’s upcoming elections.
“We have to be the party of competence as we move forward. Integrity and competence. Those are two very difficult things. There’s a third thing; we need to be the party of discipline,” said Schweich.
Schweich also criticized Obamacare and stated his wish to tackle welfare fraud in the state during his speech.
Schweich is running for reelection as auditor this fall.
