Fire destroys mobile home in Columbia

A fire destroyed a Columbia mobile home Saturday evening, leaving a family of three without a place to live.

It happened around 6:15 p.m. in the 4100 block of Ponderosa Drive, off U.S. 63 in south Columbia. Eight units from both Columbia Fire Department and Boone County Fire Protection District responded

Fire crews at the scene told ABC 17 News two adults and one minor were home at the time of the fire. One adult had minor injuries but refused treatment.

As of 8:30 p.m. Saturday, the cause of the fire remained under investigation.

Crews said the trailer appeared to be a total loss.
