Jefferson City home destroyed by fire
A Jefferson City home was destroyed by fire Monday morning.
According to interim fire chief Jason Turner, firefighters were called to the home in the 3400 block of North Ten Mile Drive around 11:23 a.m.
Dark black smoke could be seen for miles across town. When firefighters arrived on scene, the house was engulfed in flames. Additional off-duty personnel were called in to cover other duties while on-call units responded to the fire.
No one was injured in the blaze, but initial estimates show the fire did about $100,000 in damage.
Turner told ABC 17 News the fire has been ruled accidental and there was nothing suspicious about it.
