Police are searching for a suspect believed to have shot and robbed a man Thursday morning.

Investigators say a 23-year-old man was walking in the 2000 block of McKee Street when the suspect approached him, showed a handgun and demanded money.

When the victim tried to run, police say the suspect shot him in the shoulder, causing the victim to fall to the ground. The suspect then stole an undisclosed amount of money and fled.

The victim told police he was able to walk to his home before being taken to Women’s and Children’s Hospital around 4:13 a.m. He was treated for his injuries and released.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’7″ to 5’9″ tall and was last seen wearing all black clothing and a bandana over his face.
