Callaway County man arrested for assaulting girlfriend

A Callaway County man is behind bars for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.

The Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the Kingdom of Callaway Estates around 11:15 p.m. Saturday for a domestic disturbance call.

Deputies believe Robert G. Bush, 51, of Steedman, assaulted his girlfriend. The woman was transported by helicopter to University Hospital for treatment.

Bush was located around 3 a.m. Sunday and arrested on charges of first-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action.

He is being held on a $25,00 cash-only bond.
