Man arrested in deadly boat crash gets new judge

A Mid-Missouri man arrested for a deadly boating accident in Osage County is getting a new judge. Lawyers for Christopher Winkler appeared in court on Wednesday.

Winkler is accused of driving a boat while he was drunk over Labor Day weekend in 2011. His boat hit two others anchored near Bonnot Mills on the Osage River about 30 minutes east of Jefferson City. Two people died and three other victims were hurt.

In January 2012, the case was moved to Gasconade County on a change of venue. Winkler is currently out of jail. His request to throw out blood test results was also denied.
