Missouri basketball loses to Missouri state 67-53

The Missouri tigers fell to Missouri State Thursday 67 -53 in Springfield the Tigers fall to 10-2 on the season.

Freshman Sierra Michaelis led the Tigers with 14 points to set a new career-high mark. Her seven rebounds on the night also mark a career high.

Missouri’s 10-1 record to start the year matches the Tigers’ 2011-12 season start, good for the best in program history since the 2006-07 season.

Missouri trailed the Lady Bears through the first half going into the half down by 15 points. heading into the locker room with a 15-point deficit. Missouri knocked down 18 points in the paint in the half, holding the Lady Bears to just 12.

Start of the second half, the Tigers were able to pull within six points late in the half.

The Tigers shot 50-percent from beyond the arc in the second half knocking down 5-of-10 shots from distance.

Mizzou plays at Mizzou Arena Sunday against Western Illinois at 2 p.m.
