Air ambulance service to launch new Moberly base

Air Evac announced Monday it will add a new base in Moberly, starting in 2014.

The new base for the air ambulance service is expected to bring 15 new jobs to the city.

The O’Fallon-based company says it will immediately begin construction of a heliport and facility on two acres at the Randolph County Ambulance District headquarters, near the intersection of Highways 24 and 36.

“This new partnership only strengthens the type of quality emergency care that we can provide not only the Moberly community but the entire north-central and northeast region of Missouri,” said Clay Joiner, the administrator of the Randolph County Ambulance District. “Having their team located on the same grounds we are means that we can reduce the amount of time critical care patents can access the highly-skilled healthcare that they need.”

The company operates 115 bases in 15 states and each Air Evac crew consists of a registered nurse, paramedic and pilot, who are on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
