Four adults, seven children displaced following Jefferson City fire

Nearly a dozen people dozen have been displaced following a Monday fire in the capital city.

The American Red Cross says the fire happened Monday afternoon in an apartment on Broadway Street.

One apartment sustained major damage and officials deemed it uninhabitable. Three adults and four children, ages 1, 3, 5 and 7, have been displaced from that apartment.

A second apartment sustained smoke and water damage. One adult and three children, ages 1, 3 and 5, have been displaced from that unit.

The two families received financial assistance, clothing, toys for the children and a motel stay.
