Missouri volleyball team recieve American Volleyball Coaches Association recognition

The Missouri volleyball team’s season ended Saturday, but the awards keep coming in.

After an undefeated regular season and getting to the second round of the NCAA tournament, four players and head coach Wayne Kreklow earned spots on the American Volleyball Coaches Association all-southeast regional team.

Purdue defeated the 4th seed Tigers in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Missouri would finish the regular season with 34 wins, 18 of those against conference opponents.

Missouri reset records in wins, conference wins, sweeps and consecutive sweeps while leading the nation with one of the most prolific offenses, averaging the best records in kills, assists and hitting.

Senior setter Molly Kreklow is said to be the top setter in the nation. This season alone, she finished with just under 1,500 assists.

This is the third consecutive year fellow senior Lisa Henning landed on the all region team. She had two consecutive seasons with over 500 kills, this season she was one short.

Freshman Carly Kan was the only player in the conference to average at least three kills and digs per set.

Junior Whitney Little was the first tiger ever to post three consecutive 100 block seasons.

Coach Kreklow turned the team around from a 19-12 record, to the first team in the South Eastern Conference team to ever have an undefeated regular season.
