8 people killed on Missouri roads over Thanksgiving

Eight people were killed on Missouri roads over the Thanksgiving holiday, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Between 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27 and midnight Sunday, troopers responded to 299 accidents, which involved 140 injuries. Troopers say eight were killed in those crashes.

Six of the deaths happened in Mid-Missouri. A woman was killed in Pulaski County Thanksgiving night, two were killed in a Boone County crash on Highway 124, and three people died in an accident in Miller County.

Troopers also arrested 139 people for driving while intoxicated.

In 2012, there were six deaths on the roads during the extended holiday weekend and 350 accidents.
