2 killed, 1 seriously injured in Boone County crash

Two people are dead and one is seriously injured after a head-on collision Friday morning.

Law enforcement say a car driven by Richard Vanboening, 21, of Mexico, Mo., crossed the center line of Highway 124 around 7 a.m., hitting an oncoming car.

A passenger in the car, Victoria Singleton, 22, also of Mexico, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other car, Timmy Bowne, 46, of Centralia, was also killed in the crash.

Vanboening suffered serious injuries and was transported by helicopter to University Hospital.
