Man hospitalized after California, Mo. house fire
A California, Mo. man was hospitalized Thursday morning after a fire destroyed his home.
California Rural Fire Department chief Steven Walters told ABC 17 News the fire was reported on Meyer Road around 4 a.m.
When crews arrived, the house was engulfed in flames. The homeowner was home at the time.
Walters said the homeowner suffered burns and was taken to University Hospital.
The State Fire Marshal was investigating the cause of the fire Thursday night. Walters said the home was a total loss, but did not have a damage estimate.
California Rural Fire Department called in mutual aid from California Fire Department, Tipton Rural Fire Department, Latham Rural Fire Department and Jamestown Rural Fire Department.
