Services scheduled for Lincoln University football player killed in car crash

Funeral services have been announced for a Lincoln University football player killed in a car accident.

Joe Jackson-Parks, 18, died in a car crash in Warrensburg on Saturday.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 2 in Jason Gymnasium at Lincoln University.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the Blue Tiger Quarterback Club at Lincoln University.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jackson-Parks was a passenger in a car that hit a tree around 1:45 a.m. Saturday morning.

The report says the car’s driver, Saul Solis, was driving at a high rate of speed, crested a hill, lost control and hit a tree.

Jackson-Parks and Solis were killed on impact. Another passenger, Monique Hardy, suffered serious injuries and was taken by helicopter to Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
